U.F. Law Student Injured in Las Vegas Shooting

U.F. Law School student wounded in Las Vegas shooting. Reported to be in stable condition.

A University of Florida student was among those injured when a gunmen opened fire on a concert in Las Vegas Sunday night.

According to a message posted on Twitter by U.F. President Kent Fuchs, the student is in stable condition.

“A UF student was wounded in horrific Las Vegas mass shooting. She is in stable condition. Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected,” wrote Fuchs.

The Gainesville Sun has identified the student as Kristin Babik, a law student. According to the Sun, the dean of the Law School says Babik suffered a collapsed lung and broken ribs.

The mass shooting left at least 58 people dead and more than 500 people injured.

According to Babik’s Facebook page, she is from Gainesville and attended Buchholz High School.
