Florida gas prices increased 4 cents over the past week after experiencing significant fluctuations, according to AAA.
The statewide average stood at $3.88 per gallon Sunday, up from $3.84 a week earlier. Prices initially jumped 14 cents early in the week before falling by about 10 cents by the weekend.
Florida’s average remains well above year-ago levels, with drivers paying 81 cents more per gallon than at the same point in 2025.
The increase at the pump came despite declines in oil prices and gasoline futures. The U.S. price of oil fell 8% last week and 13% over the past two weeks. Crude oil settled Friday at $78.18 per barrel, down $6.49 from the previous week.
South Florida continued to have some of the state’s highest gasoline prices. West Palm Beach-Boca Raton led major metro areas at $4.04 per gallon, followed by Fort Lauderdale at $3.95 and Naples at $3.94.
The lowest prices were found in Northwest Florida. Panama City and Pensacola both averaged $3.63 per gallon, while Crestview-Fort Walton Beach averaged $3.69.
The national average stood at $4.01 per gallon Sunday, 13 cents higher than Florida’s statewide average.
