The Florida Board of Bar Examiners announced a 76.6 percent pass rate for first-time candidates of the July 2024 General Bar Examination, with the University of Florida Levin College of Law leading among the state’s law schools at a 90.6 percent pass rate.
The Florida Board of Bar Examiners announced on Monday that 76.6 percent of first-time candidates passed the July 2024 General Bar Examination.
Of the 2,289 first-time applicants, 1,754 passed. In total, 1,864 candidates were approved for admission to The Florida Bar by the Florida Supreme Court, pending completion of additional requirements.
Among Florida’s law schools, the University of Florida Levin College of Law recorded the highest first-time passage rate, with 90.6 percent of its 160 test-takers passing. The Florida International University College of Law followed closely with a 90.5 percent passage rate from 126 applicants. Florida State University’s College of Law reported 87.4 percent, with 118 of 135 passing. The University of Miami School of Law saw an 85.1 percent passage rate, with 276 applicants.
Stetson University College of Law had a 77.9 percent passage rate, with 180 of 231 test-takers passing. St. Thomas University College of Law reported 83 percent, with 176 of 212 applicants succeeding. Barry University School of Law had a 75.3 percent passage rate, with 119 of 158 applicants passing. Nova Southeastern University College of Law posted a 71.6 percent passage rate, with 106 of 148 applicants passing.
Some law schools saw lower results. Florida A&M University College of Law reported a 67.2 percent passage rate, with 43 of 64 applicants passing, and Cooley Law School, which has a Tampa campus, had a passage rate of 51.6 percent, with 16 of 31 passing. Florida Coastal School of Law, which ceased operations in 2021, had one graduate take the exam, who did not pass.
