Aaron Bean launches congressional campaign

State Senator Aaron Bean on Friday announced the launch of a congressional campaign to secure Florida’s 4th Congressional District, a redrawn region that encompasses parts of Clay and Nassau and overlaps areas of Bean’s senate district that he currently represents in Tallahassee.

In a statement, Bean committed to campaigning on conservative values, continuing his state political career of implementing pro-business legislature, and working to lower taxes. Bean has worked in the Florida Senate for the last eight years and most recently held the role of President Pro Tempore.

In his current term in the Senate, Bean serves as Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services, Vice-Chair of the Appropriations Committee, and is a member of a variety of additional committees including the Health Policy Committee, Joint Legislative Budget Commission, and the Select Subcommittee on Congressional Reapportionment Committee, among others.

“Our nation is at a crossroads, being ripped apart at the seams by a liberal agenda that stifles economic growth and seeks to silence family values,” said Bean. “We’re enduring rising inflation, gas prices that are crippling hardworking Americans, unprotected borders, a loss of respect for law and order, and constant federal overreach by a government attempting to tell us that they know what is best. I will not rest on the sidelines. I will stand up for the free state of Florida and carry the torch of conservative Northeast Florida and the Ron DeSantis Doctrine, a doctrine of freedom for all Americans, to Washington.”

Bean will contend in the Aug 23 primary for the Congressional District 4 Republican nomination, squaring off against state Rep. Jason Fischer and Navy veteran Erick Aguilar.

“Washington is in dire need of strong conservative voices and voices that will not be silenced when challenged,” Bean continued. “When we ran our local business, my wife and I were proud to be able to get up each day and work hard, employ our neighbors, and be a part of the workforce and business engine that contributed to the local economy. My background and perspective are unique, and I look forward to sharing with my community my vision for the nation, state and region.”

Previously elected as Mayor of Ferdinanda Beach, Bean worked in the House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008 before being elected to the state senate in 2012.
