A new internal poll released Monday by Gwen Graham’s campaign shows Graham pulling ahead in the five-person Democratic race for governor, leading her next closest rival, Philip Levine, by 16-points.
The poll, conducted by ALG Research, shows the former U.S. representative winning the support of 33 percent of the voters surveyed. Former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine received 17 percent, while Palm Beach real estate investor Jeff Greene comes in third with 13 percent.
Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum received 10 percent, while Orlando-area businessman Chris King came in fifth with just 3 percent. Twenty-three percent of Democrats surveyed remain undecided.
The survey was conducted from July 29 to August 2 and represents a 12-point increase in Graham’s lead since the last poll was conducted in July. That poll showed her with 21 percent of the support of voters polled. Levine’s poll numbers remained at 17 percent in both polls. The poll surveyed 800 likely Democratic primary voters and has a margin of error of 3.4 percent.
It shows Graham leading both men and women, as well as with white and African American voters. She also leads every media market in Florida and every age group.
The poll indicates Graham is the best-known and most popular candidate. She has the highest name recognition at 74 percent. Levine was close behind at 73 percent. Graham also has the highest favorable ratings with voters at 65 percent.
Recent polls have show Graham emerging as the front-runner in the race, but none of those polls have shown her holding as large of lead as the internal survey.
