Republican congressional candidate Gavin Rollins added another endorsement to his growing list, with the latest coming from State Representative Anthony Sabatini.

Sabatini, a Republican member of the Florida Legislature representing the 32nd House District, endorsed Rollins in his bid for the Republican nomination to replace U.S. Congressman Ted Yoho in Florida’s 3rd Congressional District.

“I met Gavin when we went through the ROTC program at the University of Florida. Ten years ago, we both became officers in the Florida National Guard,” said Sabatini. “Gavin is a guy who is going to lead on traditional conservative issues, the second amendment, pro-life, less government involvement in our lives, lower taxes, and fighting illegal immigration. I know he will be a fighter in Washington for those issues.”

Rollins responded, “Representative Sabatini is a conservative fighter and fellow Florida national guard officer. It’s an honor to have his support.”

Rollins, a Clay County Commissioner, high school history teacher, and captain in the Florida National Guard, has also been endorsed by Clay County Fire Professionals (3362), Putnam County commissioner Larry Harvey, and Attorney Tyler Yoho.

Sabatini will also be co-hosting a fundraiser for Rollins alongside Dr. John Hill on June 17.

Rollins is one of 10 Republicans looking to replace Rep. Yoho who is retiring at the end of his current term.

Also seeking the GOP nomination are businessman Judson Sapp, businesswoman Kat Cammack, Gainesville City Commissioner Todd Chase, former congressional aide Joe Millado, physician James St. George, businessman Ryan Chamberlin, businessman Bill Engelbrecht, businessman David Theus, and businesswoman Amy Pope Wells

CD 3 includes Alachua, Bradford, Marion, Union, Putnam, and Clay counties and is largely made up of Republican voters. Yoho won the red district in 2016 earning 57.6% of the vote.
