Anthony Sabatini volunteering in Georgia’s hand recount

by | Nov 12, 2020

Another Florida lawmaker has enlisted to help in Georgia’s razor-thin elections, with State Representative Anthony Sabatini set to answer the call in the upcoming hand recount of the presidential race.

On Wednesday, Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced that he would oversee a rare, by-hand recount of the state’s 5 million votes for president.

“With the margin being so close, it will require a full by hand recount in each county,” Raffensperger, a Republican, told reporters at a press conference in Atlanta. “This will help build confidence.

“It will be an audit, a recount and a recanvas all at once.”

Raffensperger’s announcement comes as Georgia Republicans continue to put pressure on the former state representative, calling for him to resign as accusations of mismanaging Georgia’s election process flood in.

Margins remain close in Georgia as official vote counting comes to an end. Democrat Joe Biden currently holds a 14,000 vote, or .03 percent lead, over President Donald Trump.

Sabatini, who represents House District 32 in the Florida House, announced on Wednesday night that he would be heading to the Peach State to help with the recount.

The Howey-in-the-Hills Republican said he’ll be working alongside other lawyers to add transparency to Georgia’s recount process.

“I’m excited to help in the statewide hand recount next week in Georgia,” Sabatini told The Capitolist. “I’ll be working with a group of other attorneys as we help look over the canvassing in all 159 counties.”

Trump has yet to concede the race, citing widespread voter fraud and illegal mail-in ballots. Sabatini, who is also a lawyer, believes the recount will expose voting inaccuracies that could change the outcome of the race.

“I suspect we will find duplicate votes: voters who voted both absentee and in person. It was prevalent in the Georgia Primary.”

Sabatini is the latest Florida official to get involved in the high-stakes elections in Georgia. Also fighting for Republicans in the neighboring state are Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio. Both men are stumping for GOP Senate candidates David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler as their runoff elections are set to determine the fate of the U.S. Senate in January.

Recounts are scheduled to begin Friday in Georgia. The 159 counties have until Friday, Nov. 20 to finish it.

This is just another republican stunt by Sabatini. 14,000 votes is hardly razor thin and any recount will not change the tally much either way. Georgia flipped Blue. Get over it.

You may be right, but not so fast.

Tell Sabatini to stay out of GA. We don’t need his kind in GA.

I pray that God will expose all of the illegal ballots and that justice will prevail! In the name of Jesus Amen and Amen💕🙏🇺🇸
