Attorney General Ashley Moody is endorsing Republican Carolina Amesty in House District 45.
“Carolina Amesty is a successful businesswoman and educator who will put people first,” said Moody. “She has made safe schools and neighborhoods a priority, and she will be a strong partner with me in the fight against human trafficking and fentanyl.”
Amesty, a Christian university executive, won HD 45’s Republican Primary in August, fending off four well-funded challengers and capturing over 45 percent of the vote. She will face Democrat and diversity consultant Allie Lee Braswell in the Nov. 8. General Election.
Amesty earned degrees in undergraduate studies in political science and graduate studies in international relations. She is currently the vice president at Central Christian University and serves as a board member for Chaplains of Florida, American Chaplains, and Central Christian Academy. She is also a local business owner.
Moody’s backing comes on the heels of Amesty picking up an endorsement from Americans Prosperity last week. She also boasts the backing of Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, current and former lawmakers in the Florida Legislature, and a host of other local leaders.
“It is a great honor to have Attorney General Ashley Moody’s endorsement for my race in HD 45,” said Amesty. “She has worked relentlessly alongside Governor Ron DeSantis to uphold our laws and protect Florida from federal overreach. I am inspired by her leadership and commitment to Florida, and as state representative, I hope to emulate her unwavering strength.”
HD 45, one of the most diverse in the state, encompasses southwestern Orange County, including Walt Disney World, Windermere, and Winter Garden.
