Gubernatorial candidate Rep. Charlie Crist continued his fundraising prowess in the leadup to the Democratic Primary against opponent Nikki Fried, reporting his fourth consecutive month of at least a million dollars in fundraising efforts through his campaign.

Crist pulled in $1.2 million in June, according to newly-filed finance reports, amounting to one of his best months on the campaign trail. The St. Petersburg politician now holds more than $11 million via donations, of which many are from original donors, of which the Crist campaign touts nearly 55,000.

Crist in April was the first Democratic primary candidate to bring in more than $1 million in a single month, repeating the feat again in the subsequent months and building a sizeable fundraising lead over Fried.

In an aggregate of legacy polls for the primary, Crist leads Fried from a range of +8 to +33, depending on the pollster. Though seen as the favorite to take on DeSantis in November, the incumbent governor appears unlikely to falter in the general election, amassing another massive fundraising month in May and polling at +21 in the most recent University of North Florida Public Research Poll.

Crist received a scare last week with a new poll conducted by Kaplan Strategies, a non-partisan research firm, showing a tie between the former governor and Fried, going so far as to now declare Fried, who has trailed in nearly all polls to this point, the favorite.

The poll, however, appears to be an outlier, being the first to show the two DeSantis challengers level since the early days of the campaign season.

The Crist campaign on Monday launched a new regional office in Miami, impinging on Fried’s home territory and indicating a push to expand Crist’s reach to all corners of the state.

“Our first South Florida campaign office is officially open,” touted Crist on Twitter.

Crist picked up traction in the region, netting endorsements from Miami Senator and former gubernatorial candidate Annette Taddeo, as well as a bevy of local leaders.

“We need someone that can unite us, somebody that can bring us together and represent all people,” said Taddeo. “We need a governor that cares about Floridians the way Crist has cared about Floridians. I am one-hundred percent behind you.”
