Gov. Ron DeSantis will lead a trade and business development mission to France from June 16 to 18, with planned participation in the 55th International Paris Air Show.

The trip is organized to promote Florida’s aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing sectors and to encourage trade and investment between Florida and international partners.

“Florida’s focus on manufacturing, aviation, and the space industry already makes it a global leader in aerospace. Our efforts on this trip will be to promote further investment in our state and bring more high-paying jobs to Florida,” Gov. DeSantis said in a press release.

The Paris Air Show, held at Le Bourget Airport near Paris, is one of the world’s largest events for the aviation and aerospace industries, featuring more than 2,500 exhibitors from 48 countries and drawing over 300,000 visitors. More than two dozen companies based in Florida are scheduled to take part in the event, along with economic development organizations and representatives from several Florida colleges and universities.

According to the governor’s office, the delegation will include Florida Secretary of Commerce J. Alex Kelly, Secretary of Transportation Jared Perdue, Secretary of State Cord Byrd, and officials from Space Florida.

University presidents from the University of Central Florida, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and others will also participate.

The schedule includes meetings with companies in the aerospace, defense, transportation, and manufacturing sectors, as well as a roundtable discussion, business seminar, and ribbon-cutting at the Florida Pavilion. Fifteen small and emerging Florida companies will participate through Enterprise Florida’s export assistance program.
