Florida boasts some of the top travel destinations ahead of Memorial Day, according to a list by Priceline.

The online travel agency released the list of the most popular destinations for Memorial Day based on hotel and flight bookings. According to the data, Priceline found that Americans are flocking to warm weather areas — many down South — ahead of the busy travel weekend from Friday, May 28 to Monday, May 31.

Two cities Orlando and Miami, came in at no. 2 and no. 3 on the list of most popular Memorial Day weekend destinations in terms of hotel bookings. Las Vegas took the top spot.

Additionally, three cities from the Sunshine State made the list in terms of flight bookings. Orlando landed at the no. 1 spot, followed by Miami at no. 3 and Fort Lauderdale at no. 5. This data correlates with the fact that Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) are two of the cheapest departure airports in the U.S.

“As ‘summer’ season officially kicks off this weekend, … Americans are heading to warm weather and fun-filled destinations,” the company said in a news release.

Priceline also found that road trips have become so popular in the last year, that nine out of 10 Americans have taken at least one, with the vast majority (75%) taking more than four.
