Florida drew a record 34.4 million visitors in the second quarter of 2025, with domestic travelers making up 91.5% of the total and international arrivals rising by double digits compared to last year, according to new state data released Tuesday.
Of the total, 31.5 million visitors came from within the United States, 2.3 million from overseas, and 640,000 from Canada. Overseas visitation increased 11.4% over the year, while Canadian visitation accounted for 1.9% of the total.
Florida’s 19 commercial airports recorded 28.6 million enplanements during the quarter, with Punta Gorda posting 22.5% growth and St. Petersburg-Clearwater up 14%. Among domestic travelers, 37.7% arrived by air and 62.3% by other means. Hotel demand statewide increased 1.2% year-over-year.
“Florida continues to lead the way as the nation’s top travel destination,” said Gov. Ron DeSantis. “People from all over the world come to the Free State of Florida to take advantage of our top-tier attractions, great weather, and our commitment to public safety. Today’s record numbers are a testament to the work we’ve done to make Florida the most appealing state to visit in the nation.”
Florida set a tourism record in 2024 with 143 million visitors, a 1.7% increase from the previous year’s 140.2 million, including 130.65 million from the U.S., 8.94 million from overseas and 3.41 million from Canada.
