Gator Fire Council backs Kat Cammack for CD 3

by | May 21, 2020

Republican congressional candidate Kat Cammack added another feather in her endorsement cap on Thursday, announcing that the Gator Fire Council is supporting her bid to represent Florida’s Congressional District 3.

The Gator Fire Council represents more than 1,500 firefighters, paramedics, and their families, living in North Central Florida. The Council is comprised of members from Alachua, Bradford, Clay, Citrus, Lake, Levy, Marion, and Putnam counties. They also have members from Florida’s Forestry S-20 and The Villages Firefighters.

“On behalf of the Gator Fire Council, please accept this letter as our formal endorsement of your election campaign for Congress in Florida’s 3rd Congressional District,” said Scott Taylor, President of the Gator Fire Council

“The Gator Fire Council has always taken great pride in our involvement with the political process as well as the endorsement of candidates who help serve in the best interest of Public Safety. We look forward to working with you on the various important issues you may encounter during your tenure as a Representative in Congress.

“Any resources or effort that the Gator Fire Council may extend to you is only a request away. The Gator Fire Council looks forward to your successful election,” he concluded.

Cammack, a small business owner and former deputy chief of staff for outgoing U.S. Representative Ted Yoho, has consistently been rolling out new endorsements since the start of her campaign. Some of her biggest backers to date include U.S. Senator Rand Paul, We Build the Wall founder Brian Kolfage, and several mayors across the district.

“I am truly honored to have the support of the Gator Fire Council and the many other departments that have backed our campaign thus far. As a wife of a first responder and the co-founder of the GRIT Foundation, an endorsement from the Council means a great deal to me,” Cammack said.

“There is no greater sacrifice than choosing to put the life of the community before your own, which is why I am greatly motivated to be a voice for those who choose this as their calling. Advocating for our hometown heroes will always be one the top of my list for day one in Washington.”

The longtime Yoho staffer and founder of Grit Strategies launched her campaign in December and is one of ten Republicans running to replace her old boss — who decided to step down, upholding a campaign promise to do so after four terms in Congress.

Also seeking the GOP nomination are businessman Judson Sapp, Clay County Commissioner Gavin Rollins, Gainesville City Commissioner Todd Chase, former congressional aide Joe Millado, physician James St. George, businessman Ryan Chamberlin, businessman Bill Engelbrecht, businessman David Theus, and businesswoman Amy Pope Wells.

FL-03 includes Alachua, Bradford, Marion, Union, Putnam, and Clay counties and is largely made up of Republican voters. Yoho won the red district in 2016 earning 57.6% of the vote.

That is shocking!! They obviously have been breathing in to much smoke!! She would be totally ineffective in Congress just as she was for Yoho! And why he has not endorsed her!

    Wake up people!!!

So I did some checking and as it turns out Cammack’s husband is A City of Gainesville Fireman. So you be assured that was an inside move and my guess will have only minimal impact in the election.

In my humble opinion based on 40 years working in the Public and Private sector, i am supporting Florida Army National Guard Captain Gavin Rollins!!!
