Don’t expect Gov. Rick Scott to spend a lot of time in his office watching college hoops as many office workers tend to do during the NCAA basketball championship. But that doesn’t mean Scott didn’t take some time out of his busy scheduled to fill out a bracket for the Big Dance.
Scott displayed his loyalty to Florida teams picking all three schools from the Sunshine State that are in the tournament to make it to the Final Four.
He picked Florida State University to win the West Region and playing the University of Miami, Scott’s pick to win the South Region, in the Final Four. Scott picks the University of Florida to win the East Region and playing Midwest winner Duke in the semifinals.
When it comes to winning it all, Scott’s bracket has U.F. beating F.S.U. in the championship game.
All three Florida teams will need a lot of Scott’s optimism and a little luck if the Governor’s bracket has any chance of becoming reality. Florida is seeded number six in the East, with Miami seeded sixth in the South and Florida State seeded ninth in the West.
The odds makers give Florida the best chance of the three schools to win the championship with odds of 55 to 1.
Scott tweeted:
Let the #MarchMadness begin! I’ve selected all three Florida teams competing to make it to the Final Four. I want to congratulate @FSUHoops, @CanesHoops and @GatorsMBK for making it to the dance. May the best team win!
