U.S. Rep. Laurel Lee announced on Thursday that she will seek re-election in Florida’s 15th Congressional District and intends to remain in the district under the state’s newly redrawn congressional map.
Lee, a Republican first elected to Congress in 2022, said the revised district keeps most of her current constituents and includes both her home and district office. The announcement comes after Florida lawmakers approved a new congressional map that reshapes several districts ahead of the 2026 elections.
“I am honored to represent the people of Florida’s 15th Congressional District,” Lee said. “Our new district maintains the majority of my constituents, and it’s where my home and district office are located. I look forward to continuing the good work we’ve done for our community.”
In her statement, Lee pointed to her work on public safety, law enforcement, child protection, economic growth and emerging technology policy. She also cited her background as a former federal prosecutor and judge, saying her work in Congress has been focused on the rule of law and public safety.
Lee said she has worked to address online exploitation, support law enforcement, promote responsible artificial intelligence policy, lower costs for families, strengthen domestic energy production and support small businesses in Central Florida.
“There is more work to be done, and I’m committed to continuing to serve the people of the 15th Congressional District with the same dedication and accountability they expect and deserve,” Lee said.
