Medical coalition backs Ryan Chamberlin in HD 24 Special Election

A group of six medical professionals are endorsing Republican Ryan Chamberlin in the upcoming House District 24 Special Election.

“I’m honored to have the support of these local medical professionals,” said Chamberlin. “I look forward to working alongside them and to standing with Governor Ron DeSantis on his ‘Prescribe Freedom’ initiative to protect Floridians from those who would use a so-called medical crisis as an excuse to trample our constitutional rights. Together, we will keep our state the Free State of Florida.”

The six members of the coalition backing Chamberlin’s campaign include Patrick Acevedo, MD, Michael Crimi, PA-C, Steven Hatfill, MD, Vipul Patel, MD, Vitor Pastorini, MD, and Jack Paulk, MD. The campaign noted that the leadership coalition have been in practice for “many years” and are “respected medical experts in the district.”

“Ryan is the leader we need in District 24,” said Dr. Acevedo. “Ryan will work hard to provide better medical care to patients and won’t give in to special interest groups and their agendas. Ryan is a man of his word and won’t back down from the fight for freedom.”

Chamberlin, a former Republican congressional candidate, officially announced his candidacy in December to replace former Rep. Joe Harding. Harding resigned from the Florida Legislature last month, 24 hours after he appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to a six-count indictment against him. He captured media attention earlier this year after he sponsored the controversial Parental Rights in Education legislation that limits education curriculum and dialogue.

Chamberlin is one of five Republicans running for HD 24. Others vying for the open seat include Justin Albright, Jose Juarez, Stephen Pyles and Charlie Stone.

The primary special election will take place on March 7, with the General Election scheduled for May 16.

Whoever wins the five-way Primary will face off against write-in candidate Robert “Foxy” Fox in May.
