The notion that parents should be paid for making sure their kids attend on line classes is crazy. The teachers are still developing lessons the curriculum and grading. Teaching is not babysitting!

Your title asks the kind of transactional question that it seems one could expect from The Capitolist. The implicit idea is for the state to reduce its K-12 distribution to districts that are already under the financial gun and pay parents some amount. Yet, for instance, there is no implicit suggestion that private schools – voucher or not – should pay parents some amount. One could carry the idea much, much further, like paying teachers more for adapting to a new, more demanding learning environment.
When the education of our school-age youth is reduced to a transactional quotient with nary a fig leaf to cover the political ideology motivating it, then we assuredly will not meet the challenge of what we’re facing.
