Rand Paul endorses Kat Cammack for FL CD-3

Kat Cammack, a small business owner and former deputy chief of staff for outgoing U.S. Representative Ted Yoho, picked up a major endorsement on Wednesday, with U.S. Senator Rand Paul backing the Republican in the GOP primary for Florida’s 3rd Congressional District.

The endorsement comes as the COVID-19 virus continues to wreak havoc, making lives, livelihoods, and campaigning in the Sunshine State more difficult.

Paul, who tested positive for coronavirus on March 22 — and has since recovered from the disease — issued the huge endorsement, labeling Cammack as a “conservative outsider” who will work with President Donald Trump to “drain the swamp” in Washington.

“Kat Cammack is a conservative outsider and a big government fighter. She will stand with President Trump to build the wall and secure our borders, protect life, and defend the Second Amendment,” Paul said in a statement.

“We need to send strong conservatives like Kat Cammack to Washington who have the courage to take on career politicians and drain the swamp. She is a passionate patriot who has the know-how, work ethic, and backbone to make a real difference. Kat Cammack is exactly the kind of representative we need more of on Capitol Hill, which is why she has my full support in her campaign for Congress in FL-03,” he added.

Cammack is the founder and owner of Grit Strategies, a media, marketing, and consulting firm. She served as deputy chief of staff for Yoho since 2013 and remains active on the boards of multiple nonprofits and foundations in the state.

“It is truly an honor to earn the endorsement and trust of Senator Rand Paul in our campaign for Florida’s 3rd District. Rand is an ardent defender of the Constitution and will never shy away from a fight to limit government and protect individual liberties in Washington,” Cammack said in a press release.

“With the extremists on the Left growing bolder in their push for socialism every day, we need those leaders now more than ever. If given the privilege of representing our District, I would be proud to stand alongside him on Capitol Hill for conservative values and to work every day to drain the swamp.”

FL CD-3 includes Alachua, Bradford, Marion, Union, Putnam, and Clay counties and is largely made up of Republican voters. Yoho won the red district in 2016 earning 57.6% of the vote.

That is hilarious!! Most republican in Florida do not even know who Paul is and the rest of us have our reservations about him. Cammack, although a nice person was totally ineffective as senior staff person for Yoho, and talks a good game but never follows through getting anything done.

AND, if she is so great why hasn’t her former boss Congressman Yoho endorsed her. That speaks volumes!!! Please do not vote for her, it will be a disaster for those of us living and work in Congressional District 3.

What is the most glaring political issue facing Floridians ahead of Legislative Session?
