With Georgia’s upcoming runoff elections to decide which party will control the high chamber, Florida Senator Rick Scott is making his pitch to Peach State voters in an effort to maintain a majority in the conservative Senate.
In an upcoming 30-second spot set to air in Georgia on Thursday, Scott targets Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and the radical policies he and his colleagues will enact if they control both the House and Senate. The ad starts with a clip of Schumer celebrating the presidential election, saying Democrats will “change America” if they regain the Senate.
“Now we take Georgia, then we change America,” Schumer says.
“That’s Democrat leader Chuck Schumer. You heard him. They plan to take Georgia so they can change America,” Scott says, donning his trademark Navy hat. Their change? Reduce funding for police, eliminate employer-based health insurance, pack the supreme court, chip away at our religious freedom and gun rights.
“Georgia, don’t let these radicals change America,” he concludes.
.@chuckschumer said Dems want to take Georgia so they can change America. We know what that means: cutting funding for police, packing the court, Medicare for All, the Green New Deal.

The ad comes as both Scott and Senator Marco Rubio ramp up efforts to get involved in the high-stakes Georgia Senate runoff elections that could determine the fate of the U.S. Senate.
Today’s commercial arrives on the heels of a “Save Our Majority” rally in Marietta in which Rubio attended to stump for GOP Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler. Both Republican Senate candidates will have their elections decided in January after neither candidate was able to hit 50 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff.
Perdue will look to fend off Democrat Jon Ossoff, while Loeffler will face Democrat Raphael Warnock on Jan. 5.

Georgia continues to be the center of the political world, as all eyes focus on how the runoffs will shape the political landscape. Adding a new twist to the ongoing election saga, Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced on Wednesday that he would oversee a hand recount in the presidential election in every county in the state.
Democrat Joe Biden currently leads President Donald Trump by about 14,000 votes in the long-established red state.
