Senate Democratic Leader Lori Berman on Thursday announced her leadership team for the 2025–2026 legislative term, appointing a group of veteran lawmakers to top caucus positions as Democrats recalibrate under new leadership.

Sen. Tracie Davis will serve as Leader Pro Tempore. Sen. Daryl Rouson has been named Rules Chair, while Sen. Tina Polsky will lead as Policy Chair.

Sens. Rosalind Osgood and Shevrin Jones will serve as Democratic Whips.

Berman said the appointments reflect a caucus unified in purpose and committed to advancing priorities for working families.

“I am thrilled to announce a leadership team that reflects the strength, diversity, and dedication of our caucus,” said Berman. “Each of these Senators brings a deep commitment to public service and a bold vision for Florida’s future. Together, we will continue to advocate for justice, opportunity, and equity across our state.”

The announcement follows a period of internal friction within the party that culminated in Sen. Jason Pizzo’s exit, prompting a midterm leadership transition and realignment of Senate Democratic strategy heading into the second half of the legislative cycle.

Berman assumed the role last week following Pizzo’s departure from the party and his resignation as minority leader.
