The Fantasy May Live On….Unencumbered

As other states are working to possibly end or better control fantasy football by labeling it as official gambling, two Florida Republicans are working to make sure fantasy football lovers can continue to research their favorite players and win their leagues.

Senator Dana Young, out of Tampa and Representative Jason Brodeur, from Sanford, have filed similar bills that would clarify fantasy sports leagues are not subject to Florida gambling laws.

The only difference between the two proposed bills is that Sen. Young’s bill also prohibits fantasy leagues from using high school or college sports.

The proposed bills will be seen during the 2018 legislative session, starting in January.
