Former Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos received endorsements from top House Republican leaders for his congressional campaign, including Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and Republican Conference Chairman Elise Stefanik.

Former Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos received endorsements on Friday from prominent House Republican leaders for his congressional campaign.

The endorsements include Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and Republican Conference Chairman Elise Stefanik. Friday’s announcement follows an earlier endorsement from US House Speaker Mike Johnson.

“Families can’t afford more of Joe Biden and the Democrats’ failed leadership,” Scalise said. “Mike will help us roll back the damage done by Biden’s policies and secure our border,” while Emmer described Haridopolos as a “rock-solid conservative” who understands key issues such as border security and economic restoration.

“He will stand with House Republicans to undo the damage Joe Biden has done to our country,” Emmer said.

Stefanik highlighted Haridopolos’ commitment to conservative principles, asserting that he will “stand up to the Democrats’ agenda in Washington and fight for common sense solutions.”

Haridopolos announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida’s 8th Congressional District last month, aiming to succeed the retiring Rep. Bill Posey. In his campaign announcement, he emphasized his commitment to addressing national issues such as immigration and economic policy, aligning closely with former President Donald Trump’s America First agenda.

The announcement came hours after Posey, a Republican who has represented the district since 2008, declared he would not seek reelection at the end of his term. Posey subsequently endorsed Haridopolos.

Congressional District 8, covering Brevard, Indian River, and part of Orange County, is a Republican stronghold, with Posey having secured the seat comfortably in past elections. Haridopolos’ entry into the race is expected to maintain the GOP’s strong presence in the area.

In addition to serving as President of the Florida Senate, Haridopolos served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2003 and in the State Senate from 2003 to 2012.
