Trump creates ‘Office of the Former President’ in Florida to continue ‘America First’ agenda

Despite losing a contentious presidential election last November, former President Donald Trump will continue his agenda in his home state of Florida, according to a press release.

Trump made it clear that his career in politics had not reached its terminus after his team announced on Monday that he established an official post-presidency office in his home of Palm Beach County, putting in motion a future pulpit that Trump can use to reach his supporters after social media giants permanently banned him and his allies from their platforms earlier this month.

“Today, the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, formally opened the Office of the Former President,” the press release said.

“The Office will be responsible for managing President Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances, and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump Administration through advocacy, organizing, and public activism.

“President Trump will always and forever be a champion for the American People,” the email concluded.

Trump, who has been largely silent in the days following his suspension from major social media platforms, received a permaban from big tech companies like, Google, Facebook, and Twitter after a Capitol riot broke out on Jan. 6. The suspension has reignited arguments on how tech titans police free speech, with the political right taking aim at Silicon Valley, citing their continued censorship and suppression of conservative viewpoints.

Since losing his millions of followers on social media and leaving the office on Jan. 20, many have speculated what’s next for Trump. While some insiders believe he will start his own social media platform, or possibly launch his own news network to push back against legacy media outlets like CNN and Fox News, others say today’s press release could serve as a teaser for a 2024 run.

Though his advisers have yet to weigh in on his future in the political arena, the cryptic announcement — and breadcrumbs that lead to a newly established website — show that the former president will continue his “MAGA” movement in some capacity outside the Oval Office, with some believing that he will navigate a post-Trump America by throwing his support behind primary challengers to face Republicans like Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and House Republican Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney — who was one of 10 GOP officials that voted to impeach Trump in the House.

Since his departure from the White House, Trump has retreated to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, where many expect him to decompress before making an announcement on where the ‘Trump Train’ will head next.

The president, who bid farewell to Washington D.C. last week, is also embroiled in a second impeachment trial taking place on Feb.8.
