A note from the new Managing Editor: an exciting 2024 awaits

by | Jan 3, 2024

To our readers:

Happy New Year to each of you and welcome to a brand-new version of the same old Capitolist you know as a reliable source for business, policy, and political news. Effective Jan. 2nd, I have taken the helm as managing editor after serving more than two years as a capitol reporter covering all things Florida.

My goal is to continue providing balanced, fair, and reputable reporting that gives attention to all facets of Florida’s political sphere, particularly the decisions and actions of our state leaders and how they impact the daily lives of all Floridians. I am also taking over the publication of our ReCap email newsletter, which, when I began working here, was a brand-new product. Today, the daily ReCap now circulates to more than 85,000 subscribers who depend on it to deliver insightful and comprehensive coverage from around the state.

One of the first things you might have noticed about the new The Capitolist is that the site has an updated look and feel, with a fresh new layout and improved fonts for better readability, and I’m always open to new ideas on how we can further improve the site and deliver value to you, our readers, daily.

I look forward to bringing you more quality news coverage in the months ahead. Already, we know that 2024 will be a momentous year in the state’s richly layered political history. I’m excited to cover the unfolding events in great detail – but I could always use your help. Please reach out to me with any news tips, or simply just to chat about story ideas. My cell phone number is (850) 666-9733 – call or text me any time. I can also be reached on X, where I upload all of my written works.

Sincerely,

Caden DeLisa, Managing Editor
The Capitolist
