AmeriHealth Caritas, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other healthcare solutions for low-income families, has donated $100,000 to Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity. The program, led by Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis and implemented by the Florida Department of Children and Families, helps Floridians overcome barriers and achieve goals to reach prosperity. The donation aims to help the initiative expand from a regional effort to one that benefits the entire state.

The new funds will be targeted to providing education and resources to benefit Florida’s children who are aging out of foster care, pregnant mothers contending with substance use disorders, and families who need assistance. The program connects individuals in need with a “Hope Navigator” who helps them identify goals and barriers, refers them to local community-based partners, and provides one-on-one support to help them develop a plan for economic self-sufficiency.

“Hope Florida has helped so many families achieve prosperity and economic self-sufficiency, and we’re proud to support this program and help even more Floridians in need live healthier, happier lives,” said AmeriHealth Caritas Regional President Kathy Warner. “AmeriHealth Caritas is dedicated to making high-quality, compassionate care accessible to Floridians while also supporting and improving local communities.”

According to a press release, AmeriHealth Caritas and Hope Florida share the same goal of serving low-income Floridians and ensuring that they have access to the resources they need to achieve their full potential.

AmeriHealth Caritas operates in 13 states and the District of Columbia, serving approximately 5 million Medicaid, Medicare, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Health Insurance Marketplace members through its integrated managed care products, pharmaceutical benefit management and specialty pharmacy services, and behavioral health services. The organization is headquartered in Newtown Square, Pa., and has nearly 40 years of experience serving low-income and chronically ill populations.
