Coke Florida recognized as US Best Managed Company

by | May 9, 2022

Coke Florida has been selected as a 2022 US Best Managed Company.

The US Best Managed Companies program, sponsored by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal, unveiled its 2022 honorees on Monday. The family-owned independent Coca-Cola bottler was one of 51 private businesses to make the cut. The 2022 designees are U.S. private companies that each generate at least $250 million in annual revenue and demonstrate excellence in four key categories: strategy, execution, culture and governance/financials. Program designees join the global network of Best Managed Companies, consisting of more than 1,200 organizations from more than 40 countries.

“We celebrate the achievements of the 2022 US Best Managed Companies honorees,” said Jason Downing, vice chairman, Deloitte LLP, and U.S. Deloitte Private leader. “These businesses are led by management teams excelling across the enterprise. When looking at their commitment to excellence, investment in their people, and their focus on long-term DEI and sustainability initiatives, we were inspired by the scale and depth of their impact. We look forward to their future achievements.”

Founded in 2015, Coke Florida is the third-largest privately held and sixth largest Coca-Cola bottler in the United States. The company operates in an exclusive territory that covers 47 counties in Florida and serves over 21 million consumers.

“This recognition is a significant achievement for us, and we see it as a validation of the diligence, consistent effort, and resilience of the 4,600 plus associates of Coke Florida,” said Troy Taylor, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Coke Florida. “We hold ourselves to being best in class in all the evaluated categories, and we are honored to join the 1,200 other companies across the world who hold this prestigious designation. We are especially proud to receive this recognition after more than two years of unprecedented business challenges.”

In February, a panel of external judges reviewed applications and selected this year’s honorees based on strengths across the four core criteria, and whose management teams excel amid change. Benefits of the program include access to a global community of peer business leaders and marketplace recognition.

Coke Florida’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Duane Still, and Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administration, David Cross, echoed Taylor’s comments.

“While financial results are one indicator of strong business performance, when combined with strategy and execution, they demonstrate the tenets of a truly solid organization. Building a strong and inclusive organizational culture across the Coke Florida footprint has been an intentional part of our overall strategy. Our culture is the foundation of everything we do, and it is a key driver of our business results,” they added.
