Gov. Ron DeSantis formally endorsed 54 Florida sheriffs on Friday as part of his 2024 re-election strategy, noting that the supported sheriffs embody his commitment to enforcing the law and maintaining public safety.
The endorsed sheriffs represent a broad spectrum of counties spanning the state, from populous regions like Hillsborough County, led by Sheriff Chad Chronister, to smaller areas such as Hardee County, where Sheriff Vent Crawford serves.
The endorsements also include sheriffs that are known to appear alongside the governor during media events, like Wayne Ivey of Brevard County and Grady Judd of Polk County.
“I’m happy to endorse these candidates for Sheriff in Florida. These candidates reflect my administration’s dedication to upholding and enforcing the law,” DeSantis said on X.
