A poll conducted by the Florida Chamber of Commerce found that Florida voters overwhelmingly support the work done by Governor Ron DeSantis.

The statewide poll released on Wednesday revealed that DeSantis earned a 55 percent job approval among all likely voters, with just 40 percent saying disapprove. Among Republicans, that number jumped to 88 percent, with only 6 percent of GOP voters disapproving. DeSantis also drew high marks among independents, posting a 20-point lead among NPA’s with 57 percent saying they approve the work he’s done.

Additionally, DeSantis received praise across the board for his handling of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 70 percent of voters in the Sunshine State saying they approve how he went about it.

“As I’ve said for over a year, under the leadership of Governor DeSantis, Florida continues moving in the right direction and serving as the national model for COVID-19 recovery while other states chose fear over facts,” said Florida Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mark Wilson. “Governor DeSantis’ strong approval ratings show Florida’s voters and Florida’s business community are united around his leadership in protecting Floridians and Florida’s economy.”

The poll also found that DeSantis is in a strong position heading towards his 2022 re-election campaign, holding a double-digit lead over every likely Democratic opponent. DeSantis posted a 10 percent lead over former Governor Charlie Crist, a 12 percent lead over Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried, and a 15 percent lead over Congresswoman Val Demings.

Moreover, DeSantis holds a double-digit lead among NPA’s in every head-to-head matchup, with the Governor leading Crist by 17 points, Fried by 16, and Demings by 20.

The Florida Chamber of Commerce political poll was conducted on April 30 – May 8, 2021 by Cherry Communications during live telephone interviews of likely voters, and has a margin of error of +/- 4 percent. The sample size included 242 Democrats, 244 Republicans and 116 Others for a total of 602 respondents statewide.

Florida is the envy of almost every state in the country right now yet the Democrats here give him a 73% disapproval rating. Unbelievable and I bet these same uneducated voters would give Cuomo a high approval rating. Send them back to their “Blue” states.
