Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis and his 2019 Inaugural Committee have decided on a theme for the upcoming DeSantis Nuñez Inauguration: “Bold Vision for a Brighter Future.”

The theme was announced late Thursday afternoon in a release sent out by the transition team.

“This election was about the future of our state, how we can build on our success and address the challenges that lie ahead,” DeSantis said. “As I prepare to take office as the 46th Governor of Florida, we are laying the groundwork to implement our vision to protect and strengthen our state and hit the ground running on day one. I look forward to Floridians coming together during the inaugural events where I will share a Bold Vision for a Brighter Future.”

Florida and Washington, D.C., lobbyist Brian Ballard and his wife Kathryn Ballard of Tallahassee were chosen by DeSantis to serve as the inaugural chairs.

“Governor-elect DeSantis’ Bold Vision for a Brighter Future inaugural theme will be incorporated across events open to all Floridians,” Brian Ballard said. “As the father of two young children and as an Iraq War veteran who has personally sacrificed abroad to protect our freedom at home, Governor-elect DeSantis is committed to move our state forward toward continued success. The Inaugural Committee looks forward to bringing our state together and sharing Governor-elect DeSantis’ vision for the future.”

The inauguration of DeSantis and Lt. Governor-elect Jeanette Nuñez will take place in the Tallahassee on January 7 and 8. The highlight of the two day event will be the swearing in of both DeSantis and Nuñez at noon on the 8th. The inauguration will include a variety events including an Inaugural Prayer Breakfast.

DeSantis announced his Inaugural Committee earlier this week.

“The 2019 Inauguration will be a celebration of our great state as we move forward together toward continued success,” DeSantis said in announcing the committee. “The Inaugural Committee will play a critical role in organizing inclusive inaugural events which reflect the diversity and uniqueness of Florida.”
