Laura DiBella appointed as Enterprise Florida CEO and President

  • Laura DiBella has been approved as Enterprise Florida’s next President and CEO.
  • She will also serve as Florida’s Secretary of Commerce, becoming the first female Secretary of Commerce in the state’s history.
  • DiBella previously served as Deputy Secretary of Commerce and has worked as Executive Director of the Florida Harbor Pilots Association, Nassau County Economic Development Board, and Port Director for the Port of Fernandina.
  • Gov. Ron DeSantis is also nominating Freddie Figgers to run the Enterprise Florida Board of Directors as Vice Chair.

Enterprise Florida’s Board of Directors voted on Monday to approve Laura DiBella as the organization’s next President and Chief Executive Officer.

According to the agency, DiBella will also serve as Florida’s Secretary of Commerce, becoming the first female Secretary of Commerce in the state’s history.

“I’m beyond humbled and grateful to both the Governor and EFI Board for what truly is the opportunity of a lifetime,” said DiBella. “Florida is in an enviable position representing the gold standard for business freedom, all while being incredibly well positioned for even greater success. I’m excited and look forward to championing and leading the outstanding efforts of the entire EFI team, in lockstep with our statewide partners, to really capitalize on this amazing snapshot of time.”

Prior to joining Enterprises Florida as Deputy Secretary of Commerce last summer, DiBella worked as a full-time Executive Director of the Florida Harbor Pilots Association. Before that, she served as the Executive Director of the Nassau County Economic Development Board, as well as Port Director for the Port of Fernandina, Ocean Highway, and Port Authority of Nassau County.

“In the past few months, she has hit the ground running showcasing Florida as the best place for business,” said Holly Borgmann, Vice Chair of the Enterprise Florida Board of Directors. “With her incredible background and passion for Enterprise Florida’s mission, I am confident she will lead EFI well and look forward to all she accomplishes as Secretary.”

According to a release, Gov. Ron DeSantis is also nominating Freddie Figgers to run the Enterprise Florida Board of Directors as Vice Chair.

Enterprise Florida is a public-private partnership and Florida’s official economic development organization. Its mission is to diversify the state’s economy and create better-paying jobs by supporting and attracting businesses.

The organization provides resources and services to Florida businesses, including access to capital and international trade opportunities.

It also works to market the state of Florida as a desirable location for businesses to grow and prosper.
