More Roster Moves: Capital City Consulting Scoops Up Dean Izzo

Like football teams making roster moves before the season starts, Tallahassee lobbying firms are beefing up their lineups and adding talent at specific positions. Early yesterday, Rutledge Ecenia announced the addition of seasoned lobbyists Corinne Mixon and Jessica Janasiewicz to their government affairs team.

Late yesterday evening, Capital City Consulting, LLC announced that Dean Izzo agreed to join its team of government affairs consultants. Prior to joining the firm, Izzo served as the chief of staff, chief financial officer and chief information officer at the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO). He brings a wealth of experience in information technology and operations to the firm. He starts work January 30th.

Former Chief of Staff, CFO & CIO of Florida DEO Joins Tallahassee-based Firm

 

Tallahassee, Fla.Capital City Consulting, LLC today announced that Dean Izzo has joined its team of committed, highly regarded government affairs consultants after most recently serving as the chief of staff, chief financial officer and chief information officer at the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO). Izzo, who also has a background in IT consulting and operations management, will begin on January 30, 2017, and can be contacted at dizzo@capcityconsult.com.

Prior to joining Capital City Consulting, Izzo served as the chief of staff at DEO, where he represented the department’s views on policy decisions and oversaw each of DEO’s divisions and programs, cabinet affairs, communications and external affairs offices. Prior to serving as chief of staff at DEO, Izzo also served as chief financial officer, where he was responsible for managing the department’s $1.3 billion budget and oversaw the department’s budget management, financial management, financial monitoring, human resource management and general services bureaus. Having been with the department since its creation in 2011, Izzo also previously served as chief information officer of DEO, where he was responsible for strategic management and operational oversight of the department’s IT resources, systems and services.

 

Previously, Izzo served as director of real estate for the Florida Department of Management Services, where he oversaw approximately 55 million square feet of commercial property, managed the state’s construction management and leasing program, and provided strategic and technical management of Florida’s real estate holdings and assets. Additionally, Izzo previously served as vice president of operations in the retail banking division at JP Morgan Chase Bank, as a consultant and project manager at IBM, and as chief information officer at Florida Department of Community Affairs.

Izzo graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Real Estate/Finance. Izzo resides in Tallahassee with his wife, Chollet, daughter, Jenna Long, and son, Colby.
