NextEra Energy, Inc. today began implementation of a leadership succession plan under which John Ketchum, currently CEO of one of the company’s subsidiaries, will serve as President and CEO.
Ketchum, who has held a number of executive positions during 19 years with the company and its affiliates, is set to replace Jim Robo and join the company’s board of directors on March 1, the company noted on Tuesday.
In addition, the company announced several other leadership changes as part of its succession plan, including:
- Eric Silagy, president and CEO of Florida Power & Light Company, will take on the added responsibility as Chairman of FPL.
- Rebecca Kujawa is named president and CEO, NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, succeeding Ketchum, who previously held that role. Kujawa is presently NextEra Energy’s Chief Financial Officer.
- Kirk Crews is named CFO, NextEra Energy, Inc., succeeding Kujawa. Crews is presently Vice President of Business Management for NextEra Energy Resources.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as CEO for nearly 10 years. I’m as excited as I have ever been about the future prospects,” Robo said.
