NFIB: Passidomo wins “Guardian of Small Biz” Award

by | Aug 11, 2016

In the hotly contested Senate District 28 race between Representative Matt Hudson and Representative Kathleen Passidomo, both candidates continue to trot out endorsements.

Today, it’s Passidomo’s turn after winning support from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). Passidomo received a “Guardian of Small Business” award for her efforts to fight lawsuit abuse in Tallahassee.

“Rep. Passidomo’s focus on curtailing frivolous lawsuits and fighting lawsuit abuse has earned her the praise of small business owners across Florida,” said Bill Herrle, NFIB/Florida Executive Director.

“Lawsuit abuse is plaguing Florida’s small business owners, and according to a survey we released yesterday, 80% of small business owners think the Florida legislature should make legal reform a top priority. Rep. Passidomo is dedicated to making this happen, and we applaud her for leading the charge to stand up for small business owners and preserve Florida’s solid business climate.”

According to the NFIB press release, Passidomo earned a 100 percent Voting Record with NFIB/Florida from 2015-2016.

“I am honored to be recognized by NFIB, and I remain committed to finding common sense solutions to protect small business owners from lawsuit abuse,” said Rep. Passidomo. “Small businesses create jobs for our neighbors and friends, and I’m privileged to do my part to keep Florida working.”

The NFIB Guardian of Small Business award is the association’s highest honor given to lawmakers whose work reflects support and advocacy for the small business community during the previous legislative session.
