Pro-Workman Group launches “Mayfield Facts” website

by | Jul 26, 2016

The slugfest in Senate District 17 between Rep. Ritch Workman and Rep. Debbie Mayfield continues today with the launch of a new “Drudge Report” styled website attacking Mayfield’s record. The site can be viewed at www.mayfieldfacts.com

An electioneering committee called the Accomplished Conservative Leaders Fund announced the move by press release this morning:

“Debbie Mayfield’s deception about her record is well documented on this website. As we approach the upcoming Republican Primary in the Senate District 17 race, it’s vital that voters get Mayfield’s full record before casting their ballots,” said David Bishop, a spokesman for The Accomplished Conservative Leaders Fund.

The site raises questions about the source of nearly $400,000 in loans Mayfield gave to her campaign, when campaign finance disclosures show she only had $20,000 available. From the site:

Either the Disclosure Forms are WRONG….or she DID NOT DISCLOSE the true source of the money to her campaign!!

Additional links posted on the site make the case that Mayfield had only $22,000 in liquid assets combined between 2014 and 2016, while earning less than $80,000. The implication is that Mayfield could not have afforded to give her campaign $400,000 in loans. Either she failed to account for her personal assets in prior years, or she failed to report the loan properly.

NEW “MAYFIELD FACTS” WEBSITE HOLDS DEBBIE MAYFIELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR DISTORTED RECORD

TITUSVILLE – After spending months distorting her own record as a state legislator, the truth about Debbie Mayfield’s lack of accomplishment in the Florida House is now available for the public to view at a new website – www.MayfieldFacts.com.

The Accomplished Conservative Leaders Fund unveiled the website today to put the real facts about her record on the table and hold Debbie Mayfield and her closely tied electioneering committee – Stop Career Politicians fully accountable.

The website touches on three particular areas of concern:

  • Mayfield’s ineffective record as a member of the Florida House. For example, she voted AGAINST legislation that would provide a tuition waver to Purple Heart Recipients and Combat War Veterans.
  • Personal loans to her campaign when she doesn’t appear to have the resources to make those loans. State disclosure forms show she has less than $20k available but has loaned her campaign $400,000.
  • Mayfield’s use of taxpayer dollars to benefit her and members of her family. Mayfield’s now-husband received a $2 million state grant to build a “high efficient car” in Brevard County. After spending the money, and no workable car, the company moved to Michigan to receive incentives from that state.
