Rick Scott: a leading voice against coronavirus

by | Mar 10, 2020

Senator Rick Scott on Tuesday called for more transparency to combat the outbreak of coronavirus in the U.S. that has resulted in two deaths in the state he represents.

Appearing on Fox News, Scott discussed the spread of COVID-19, calling for more transparency on the local, state, and federal levels so families have all the information they need to protect themselves.

“I think the point is we have to get more information out to people,” the Republican lawmaker and former governor of Florida told Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom.” “The health and safety of Americans is the most important (matter).”

During the interview, Scott expressed his frustration, citing a lack of information as a problem, particularly since one of the people who died was in the county adjacent to his home location.

Following the interview, Scott took to social media, saying he spoke with President Donald Trump and “urged the President to provide the public with information” so that lawmakers and experts can “utilize the best practices” to combat the epidemic.

Scott is no stranger to overseeing and evaluating threats that could be catastrophic for the people he represents. The crisis manager is an expert when it comes to gathering intel and taking the necessary steps to minimize damage to Floridians. Presiding over numerous Category 4 and 5 storms, Scott has been a competent leader that has proven his prowess in the area of disaster management.

And he’s done it in style, wearing his signature Navy ballcap — which may or may not give him special powers.

Though the risk to Florida remains low, health and government officials are taking necessary precautions, with Governor Ron DeSantis issuing a state of emergency earlier this week.

DeSantis executive order comes as the total number of presumptive positive cases of coronavirus in Florida reached 14, with 115 pending test results.

Though the actual threat to the general public has yet to be determined, it’s nice to have a champion shedding light on an issue affecting the Sunshine State.

Are you high on drugs? He’s an inarticulate boob and was about as transparent as mud.
