U.S. Senator Ted Cruz is backing Scotty Moore‘s bid for Florida’s 9th Congressional District.
Cruz, who represents Texas in the U.S. Senate, announced on Twitter that he was backing Moore’s congressional bid. The junior senator is no stranger to the political arena. He served as Solicitor General for Texas from 2003 to 2008, before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012. Cruz was re-elected in 2018, and is a leading voice in today’s Republican Party.
“I’m proud to endorse Scotty Moore for Florida’s 9th Congressional District”, said Cruz. “We need more leaders in Washington like Scotty who will fight for school choice, defend religious freedom, and protect our Constitution. I hope my fellow Conservatives will join me in supporting Scotty’s campaign.”
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Senator Cruz,” said Moore. “Imagine how functional D.C. would be if every member of Congress fought as feverishly for limited government, economic growth, and national security as Senator Cruz does.” “He is a true Constitutional Conservative and loves our country very much. I’m thrilled to have him on Team Scotty and am excited to work with him to help Save America.”
Moore is one of several GOP candidates vying to unseat U.S. Representative Darren Soto in the redrawn district. CD 9, which covers Osceola County and a large portion of Orange County, leans Democratic.
I’m proud to endorse @ScottyMoore4FL for Florida’s 9th Congressional District.
We need more leaders in Washington like Scotty who will fight for school choice, defend religious freedom, and protect our Constitution. 1/x
