Florida is ranked as one of the most fun states in the country, according to a new study from WalletHub.

The report conducted by the personal finance website found that Florida is one of the “Most Fun” states, landing at No. 2 on WalletHub’s 2021’s Most Fun States in America with a total score of 58.09. The study compared the 50 states across 26 key metrics, with a data set ranging from movie costs to accessibility of national parks to casinos per capita. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 indicating the greatest number and variety of fun and cost-effective options.

Florida excelled in several key metrics, despite the pandemic impacting the state’s hospitality industry. The Sunshine State ranked 1st in most restaurants per capita and amusement parks per capita. Florida also ranked in the top 10 in other categories, including movie theaters per capita, performance-arts theaters per capita, golf courses and country clubs per capita, and fitness centers per capita.

“Florida undoubtedly provides the best guest experiences across our hospitality and tourism sectors, so it is absolutely no surprise that our state is top rated for restaurants and attractions in this study, “ said Carol Dover, President and CEO of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association. “As we work to continue our recovery from the toughest year in recent history, we are still providing unparalleled service and offerings and will continue to do so. We are ready to welcome guests and make sure they have the most memorable experiences and keep coming back.”
