Republican Aaron Bean rolled out another list of district leaders who are supporting his bid for Florida’s 4th Congressional District.
Bean, who currently serves in the state Senate, added 18 current and former local leaders to his growing endorsement list on Thursday. The additional district leaders backing Bean’s campaign include City Council President Terrance Freeman, City Council Vice President Ron Salem, City Councilman Nick Howland, City Councilwoman Randy DeFoor, City Councilman Matt Carlucci, City Councilman Aaron Bowman, City Councilman Rory Diamond, City Councilman Sam Newby, City Councilman Randy White, Former Council President Ginger Soud, Former Council President Scott Wilson, Former Council President Alberta Hipps, Former Councilman Jim Love, Former Councilman Greg Anderson, Former Councilman Doyle Carter, Former Councilman Matt Schellenberg, Former Councilman & former State Representative Dick Kravitz, and Former School Board Member Becki Couch.
“What an exciting announcement, adding more endorsements from esteemed leaders in the district,” said Bean. “The endorsements are rolling in, and I am thrilled to have their support of my campaign for Congress. Our community realizes the need for strong conservative leadership in Washington, to fight back against the liberal policies that have us on a dangerous path, and I am ready to be that fighter for our Northeast region.”
The Fernandina Beach Republican has been on a roll lately, picking up endorsements from a host of elected officials, lawmakers, sheriffs, and local leaders. Today’s round of endorsements comes one week after Attorney General Ashley Moody and Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis stamped their seal of approval on Bean’s bid.
Bean also boasts endorsements from Senator Marco Rubio, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry, State Reps. Wyman Duggan and Clay Yarborough, Jacksonville Sheriff Pat Ivey, former Sheriff Mike Williams, Public Defender Charlie Cofer, Duval County Clerk of Courts Jody Phillips, Duval Property Appraiser Jerry Holland and former state Reps. Lake Ray and Jay Fant to the growing list.
Others to endorse Bean for CD 4 include Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook and Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper, as well as a number of other First Coast leaders.
Bean, the current President Pro Tempore, represents Senate District 4, which includes Nassau County and parts of Duval County. He was elected to the Florida Senate in 2012 after serving in the House from 2000 to 2008.
Bean officially launched his campaign for CD 4 earlier this month. His only opposition for the Republican nomination is Navy veteran and businessman Erick Aguilar.
CD 4, a redrawn district, encompasses all of Clay and Nassau counties, as well as part of Duval County.
