State Representative Byron Donalds picked up an endorsement on Monday from Empower America Project.

The organization, founded by Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), helps recruit, train and promote conservative candidates for elected office. The group endorsed Donalds for his bid Florida’s 19th Congressional District along with nine other candidates running for office across the country.

“The Empower America Project believes that, at our best, America is aspirational. The outcome of our lives shouldn’t be determined by the zip code in which we are born. Therefore, we advocate principles and policies that ensure economic freedom and educational opportunity,” Jimmy Kemp, Executive Director of Empower America Project, said in a press release.

“Too many people either don’t believe similarly or too often, if they do, they miscommunicate the message. These 10 Empower candidates are fresh faces advancing opportunity for all Americans. We applaud their public service pursuits and endorse their candidacies for the U.S. House of Representatives”

Donalds, who represents House District 80, announced last month that he is running to replace outgoing U.S. Congressman Francis Rooney’s seat.

Byron is one of eight Republican candidates running for CD 19.

“Proud to be endorsed by the Empower America Project,” Donalds said on Twitter. “Together, we will fight for individual liberty, school choice, and economic opportunity for all.”

CD 19, located in Southwestern Florida, includes Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, and Marco Island.
