Florida recorded 109 space launches in 2025, the highest total of any U.S. state, according to state launch records.

The launches occurred primarily at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The total includes commercial, civil and national security missions conducted throughout the year and represents the first time Florida has exceeded 100 launches in a single calendar year.

“What’s happening in Florida is the power of partnership at scale,” said Rob Long, president and CEO, Space Florida. “We’ve built an ecosystem where industry can move faster, invest with confidence, and grow for the long term. That coordinated approach is why Florida’s aerospace strategy is working and why companies continue to choose to do business here.”

Most launches were carried out by private companies operating from Florida’s east coast. SpaceX accounted for the majority of missions, using Falcon 9 rockets for satellite deployments, government payloads and rideshare launches.

United Launch Alliance and Blue Origin also conducted launches from Florida during the year. NASA missions contributed to overall activity as part of ongoing space exploration and research programs.

Florida’s launch volume exceeded that of other U.S. states with active spaceports, including California and Texas, and the increase coincided with continued use of reusable launch vehicles and sustained demand for satellite launches.

The Space Coast supports multiple active launch pads and associated infrastructure, including vehicle integration facilities, payload processing sites and range operations. These assets allow launch providers to conduct missions at higher frequency compared with previous years.

Space Florida, the state’s aerospace finance and development authority, reported closing out 2025 with a pipeline of 220 aerospace projects valued at approximately $6 billion statewide. The authority also reported that more than $500 million has been invested in spaceport-located projects between 2012 and 2025.

Space Florida works with state agencies, local governments and private companies to support infrastructure development, financing and site coordination related to aerospace projects. Its activities include supporting launch facilities, manufacturing sites and research and development operations connected to the space and aviation sectors.

Launch activity is tracked by federal agencies and industry groups as a measure of spaceport utilization and commercial space operations.
