“I give her my full endorsement!”: Ashley Moody receives Trump endorsement

by | Mar 4, 2022

State Attorney General Ashley Moody’s reelection bid received a boost on Friday morning after she received a ringing endorsement by former President Donald J. Trump. Moody is seeking a second term as the state’s top prosecutor and is running a campaign focused on cracking down on drug and human trafficking.

Moody, already seen as an early favorite to reclaim her position in November, becomes the first member of Florida’s cabinet to receive a Trump endorsement. Just 2 Democrats, former state attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida Aramis Ayala and lawyer Jim Lewis, have declared their candidacy to oppose Moody in the election.

“Ashley Moody has been a terrific Attorney General for the Great State of Florida,” said Trump. “Since being elected in 2018, Ashley has supported Florida’s men and women in Law Enforcement and made public safety her top priority. She is a proud defender of the Second Amendment, protects our great Vets, and truly knows and understands the importance of Law and Order.”

A Trump endorsement has proven to be a powerful asset to have for Republican candidates across the board. According to a January 2021 survey by researchers from Northeastern, Harvard, Northwestern, and Rutgers, 45 percent of Republicans said they would be more likely to support a candidate endorsed by Trump. In 2020, Trump endorsed 183 politicians. Of that group 141, or 77 percent, were victorious in their bids for office.

“A former United States Attorney, Ashley successfully prosecuted drug, firearm, and fraud offenses and, elected at age 31, was the youngest judge in Florida,” concluded Trump. “As President, I appointed Ashley to the Presidential Commission on Law Enforcement and she has been a crusader fighting opioid abuse and human trafficking ever since. Ashley Moody will never let you down, and I give her my complete and total endorsement!”

Thus far, Trump has issued 112 general endorsements nationwide, spanning gubernatorial candidates, U.S. House members, and Senators seeking reelection.

In Florida, Trump has endorsed both Senators, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, in their bids to remain in the Senate for another term. Trump additionally endorsed current Senate President Wilton Simpson in his attempt to expropriate gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried’s seat as Agricultural Commissioner.

Notably, Trump has gone cold on a potential endorsement for Governor Ron DeSantis, as the 2 favorites for the 2024 GOP Presidential candidate allegedly have engaged in a behind-the-scenes tug of war battle.

“Thank you President Trump for your continued support of me and our efforts to protect Floridians,” said Moody. “Your commitment to our brave men and women in law enforcement and focused work to strengthen our border helped us in our efforts to combat drug and human trafficking.”

If Ms. Ashley Moody is receiving the endorsement of a wicked traitor, now I KNOW I can never trust her with anything. Now I know she is not a Christian.

I am hopeful that a trump endorsement is the kiss of death for any Republican campaign, Florida and beyond.

First, Donald Trump is incapable of writing coherent sentences like these. Second, it’s common knowledge that he used lots of human trafficked young girls. No to Trump. No to Moody.
