KPMG LLP, one of the nation’s Big Four accounting and consulting firms, announced a major expansion of its Florida-based government services practice this week, including the addition of a former top DeSantis administration official and several key internal promotions.
The firm has hired Savannah Jefferson, who most recently served as Director of External Affairs for Governor Ron DeSantis, as a Director within its Tallahassee office. In that role, Jefferson was a senior advisor to the Governor and a key liaison to stakeholders across the state, overseeing strategic engagement on behalf of the Executive Office.
KPMG Florida Partner Anthony Monaco called the moves part of a growing commitment to public service expertise in Florida.

Jefferson also brings experience from the Florida Hospital Association, where she led communications during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as prior roles at Volunteer Florida and in legislative affairs.
Alongside Jefferson’s hiring, three professionals with deep experience in state government and public-sector consulting were promoted within the Tallahassee-based team, according to a company press release:

Maggie Mickler was elevated to Principal. She previously held leadership roles at the Florida Department of Children and Families, Department of Economic Opportunity, and served as Press Secretary for the Florida Senate Majority Office. In 2025, she received the News Service of Florida’s Above & Beyond Award for her work supporting operational efficiency in government.

Danielle Kosberg was promoted to Managing Director, continuing her leadership in finance transformation. She played a pivotal role in the Florida PALM modernization effort at the Department of Financial Services and previously served as VP of Florida Operations for Voyatek.

Kelsi Snow, a graduate of both the University of Florida and Florida State University, was promoted to Manager. She has worked on account management and public-sector strategy at KPMG and brings communications experience from Bascom Communications and UF’s student affairs team.
Also promoted were Vincent Fetchero and Maxwell Thursam, both rising to Senior Associate positions with a focus on economic development and emergency management projects across the state.
With these additions, KPMG continues to deepen its footprint in Florida’s capital and expand its influence in the public-sector consulting space. The firm’s Florida government practice has grown in recent years by tapping into former state agency talent, creating a team that speaks the language of Tallahassee policymaking and public administration.
The moves come as Florida continues to invest heavily in modernizing state systems, upgrading infrastructure, and improving service delivery across agencies – areas where KPMG’s public-sector practice plays a growing role.
