KPMG Florida on Tuesday hosted its first annual “Day at the Capitol” in Tallahassee, organizing a book donation drive to support literacy efforts for K-12 students across the state.

The event, held Feb. 10 at the Florida State Capitol, brought together community leaders and government partners as part of an initiative to collect books for students. Representatives from the firm staffed a booth inside the Capitol, where attendees were encouraged to donate books that will be distributed to schools and students in need.

Anthony Monaco, a partner with KPMG Florida, said the initiative reflects the firm’s focus on supporting education and community engagement. He noted that KPMG maintains a significant workforce presence and a training center in Florida and described the book drive as part of the firm’s broader efforts to give back locally.

“Literacy is the foundation for lifelong learning and we are proud to do our part, one book at a time,” said Monaco. Thank you to everyone who came out to our booth to show their support and donate a book. We have a large team, and a tremendous training center, based in Florida. We are honored to be able to give back – even in a small amount – to a state that fosters unprecedented growth and opportunity for everyone here.”

The event took place during Florida’s legislative session, when advocacy groups and organizations frequently convene in Tallahassee to highlight policy priorities and community initiatives. KPMG Florida said it plans to continue pursuing service and volunteer opportunities throughout the year, with a focus on initiatives aimed at making a long-term impact in communities across the state.
